Cookies are sweet biscuits which are liked by all age people. They are crunchy and soft. There are different kind of cookies as per their making methods. Jam topped cookies are Moulded / shaped by hands cookies.
Bar Cookies – Baked in shallow pan and then cut into bars or squares. Soft or firm. Can have different bases, fillings, or toppings. Ex: brownies and blondie.
Molded Cookies Shaped by hand. Can be rolled in chopped nuts/other coatings or pressed with a glass/fork before baking. Can be made into different things. Chill dough first because it is easier to work with.
Rolled Cookies -Made from stiff chilled dough cut into different shapes with cookie cutters. Best to work with small amounts. Ex: gingerbread and sugar cookies.
Ingredients for Jam Topped Cookies :
1 cup Maida
3 tbsp custard powder(vanilla)
2 tbsp Milk powder
1 tbsp Baking powder
½ tbsp Baking soda
120 gm Butter
70 gm Sugar powder
2/3 spoon Milk (required to bind the dough) 50 gm Jam (filled in a piping bag)
Jam Topped Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup Maida ( Plain flour)
- 3 tbsp Custard powder (vanila)
- 2 tbsp Milk powder
- 1 tbsp Baking powder
- 1/2 tbsp Baking soda
- 120 gm Butter
- 70 gm Sugar powder
- 2/3 tbsp Milk (need to bind the dough)
- 50 gm Jam Filled in a piped bag
Instructions
- Beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Mix and sieve all the dry ingredients.
- Add dry ingredients in small quantity to the butter and sugar mixture and make the dough lightly with hand. Add milk as per requirement to make a dough.
- Preheat Oven to 180 degrees And Grease the Baking Tray.
- Roll small coin like cookies and make a cavity in center using your finger.
- Fill in the cavity with Jam using piping bag.
- Bake for 12 to 14 minutes at 180 degrees till light pink in color.
- With the Aroma of Vanilla Custard and Sparkling cooked Jam your COOKIES are ready.
- Let them cool on the tray and then store in airtight container. Makes 20-22 cookies of coin size.
